- Architectural improvements
If you are planning to do any sort of fixed improvement to the outside
of your house, you must first submit an architectural change request
form to Community Association Services of Indiana (see the contacts page for the address. The board
considers these requests at each monthly meeting. The board considers
the covenants for
Roudebush Woods HOA, common sense, aesthetic judgment, and city
regulations on whether to approve or disapprove the improvement.
Typical issues that should be submitted are the installation of fences,
decks, storage sheds, and satellite dishes and major changes in landscaping.
Homeowners should also be aware that the development is periodically inspected
for the general appearance of properties.
- Yard lights
When Roudebush Woods was developed, the agreement was that, in lieu of
street lights, every property would have a functioning yard light that
would come on at dusk. It is mandatory that every homeowner check
that the yard light comes on at dusk. If the light doesn't come on,
there are there possible causes: 1) the light is burned out, 2) the
ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) has been triggered to off, or 3)
there is a problem with the wiring.
It is not necessary that you
install super bright bulbs in your yard light. There are available
very low wattage compact florescents that put out sufficient light and
last longer than incadescent bulbs. If you install a working bulb and the
light still does not light after dark, it's possible that the GFCI in
the garage has been triggered. Find the electrical socket along your
garage wall. It should have two small buttons in the center of the plate
labeled "Test" and "Reset". Press the reset button and see if the light
comes on. If this doesn't work, you may have a problem with the wiring and
will probably have to call an electrician.
- Trash collection
Trash pickup for Roudebush Woods is on Monday for normal trash, and
every other Monday for recyclables. Republic distributes appropriate
containers for normal trash and for recyclables. You should have
received one container for each. You can have a second container for
normal trash if you wish. Call Republic for a second container and for
a magnetic calendar for recyclable pickup weeks. If a holiday
recognized by Republic falls on a Monday, the pickup will be on the
next day. The holidays that will affect us are: Memorial Day, Labor
Day, and if they occur on a Monday, July 4, Christmas Day, and New
Years Day. Full information is located at: the City of Noblesville's
website (Trash and Curbside Recycling)
- Newspaper delivery
Both the Noblesville Ledger and the Indianapolis Star deliver daily to
Roudebush Woods. Since they are sister papers, you can ask either one for
a plastic box that can be attached to the mailbox poll. The delivery person
will place the paper in the box instead of on the driveway or sidewalk. This
will help keeping uncollected newspapers from littering the driveway, sidewalk
or street.
- Mailbox replacement
Your mailbox must be kept in a presentable condition and must match the
style that was originally installed. If your mailbox has been damaged
through vandalism or weather, you can get a replacement from Caporale Posts
in Greenwood, IN. See the Resources page
for futher information about how
to order a new box.
