Pool Heater Replacement
We discussed where the pool heater should be installed. The three
options were A) inside the building B)inside the screened room
C) outside the screened room in the kiddie pool area
A resolution was passed on a vote of 2-1 with 1 not voting
to put the heater outside
the screened room in in the kiddie pool area. Option A is
unworkable because the lack of space. Option B had the benefit of
it not being visible from the outside but the drawbacks are that we
would have to build a solid wall around the heater, we would have
to open a door into the pump room, we would have to send a
ventilation pipe through the ceiling and roof, it would eat
into the space people could use, and it would be more expensive to
implement. The placement of the heater in the corner of where the
screened room meets the outside fence. It will be enclosed in a
privacy fence. We will use volunteer labor to install the fence
itself.
Repair work on the playground
The metal tunnel on the play gym is rusting and needs to be repaired
and repainted. We had considered ordering a plastic model but the
cost would have been exhorbitant. We will instead have an electroplating
company remove the tunnel and repaint it in their shop and then reinstall
it. While they are doing this, the play gym will be out of commission and
no one should use it. The work will probably be done sometime January.

Annual Meeting
The annual meeting will be held in Faith Community Church at 6:30 pm on Monday,
October 22. The church is located at the intersection of 191st St. and
Promise Rd. Community Association Services of Indiana (CASI) will mail
letters to all residents announcing the meeting. Included in the mailing
will be a self-nomination form for board positions. These forms are to
be returned to CASI by Oct 10 or they can be brought to the meeting. There
will six board positions open. If we do not get more than six nominations,
there will no election and the nominees will be admitted to the board in
January. The board also voted to make all board terms 3 years.
Sidewalk along the woods
Hank Thompson has inspected the sidewalk along the woods. The street side of
the sidewalk has settled and needs to be raised to make it safe for walking.
He checked with two companies on what it would take to replace the affected
sections. The replacement cost would be $1,628. Another option that Hank
says works well is called mudjacking. We voted 3-1
to go with the lower bidder on
mudjacking for $720.
Incident reports
During the month of August there was an incident where a mailbox had been
deliberately smashed by vandals. Also around that time several vehicles
had things taken from them. The board has decided that we will start posting
on the website incidents that have happened so that the information can be
easily communicated to the residents. Bob Hackenberg will create the incident
page on the website. Residents will be instructed to send the board
(board@roudebushwoods.org) email describing what has happened.
Meeting adjourned at 8:00 PM.
