Roudebush Woods HOA Board Minutes for 24 July 2007
Location: Noblesville Library, South Room
Call to order: 6:00 pm
Present: Rob Brown, Bob Hackenberg, Steve Everman,
Donna Zenthoefer, Hank Thompson
Approval of previous minutes: Had been approved via email,
posted on website.
Financial review:Nothing seems out of order, spending is on track.
Old Business:
- Playground equipment painting quotes:
We received a quote of $720 to do the job on site or $970 to take down
the affected equipment, take it into the shop, do the work there, and
then reinstall it. Donna Zenthoefer suggested that we might look into
replacing the equipment with something made of plastic. We are going
to put this on hold and investigate that option.
- Mulch for the playground: The call to get a quote was not
made. That will be done this month.
- Deed for the Woods Update: Thompson wants to wait until it can
create a similar quick deed for Roudebush Farms. It won't do that
until a certain percentage of roofs have been completed in that division.
Committee Reports:
- Architecture: No Report but summary of actions was
distributed.
- Landscape: No members
- Social: No members
- Pool:
Steve Everman expressed a need for help in managing the work that he
has been doing on the pool. He indicated that he would be in a
better position to do this work if he were a member of the board.
The board unanimously invited him to rejoin the board.
New Business:
- Pool Heater: Hank Thompson presented several quotes that
he received for purchasing and installing a gas heater for the
pool. Ray McGrayel said that based on the surface area of our pool,
we need a heater capable of 1,000,000 BTU. Some of the quotes that
Hank received were for heaters smaller than that. He will go back
and get additional quotes. We have found out that Vectren is
offering to install the gas line at no extra cost.
- Sidewalk Repair: Bob Hackenberg mentioned that a number
of the concrete slabs in the sidewalk along the woods are either
raised or lowered by 2 inches. It was decided that this was an
issue that had to be taken up with Noblesville Streets. Bob will
contact them with the problem.
- Tree Pruning:
A resident had asked what could be done about trees along the
sidewalks that impede walking along the sidewalks. We said that
the Noblesville Streets Department had pruned trees throughout the
neighborhood several months ago. Apparently, they missed several
trees along Talisman Dr. They alse seem to have completely missed
Romney Dr. Bob will call Streets on this.
- Signs for the Playground:It was pointed out that a
resident reported that there are no signs indicating that the
playground can be used only from dawn to dusk. Police had
apparently told the resident that it's difficult to enforce this
rule if there are no signs. It turns out that Steve Everman has
been storing two signs intended for that purpose. They had not been
installed because there was disagreement on where to position them
so that they do not impeded mowing. Bob suggested that we
place one sign on a pole next to the trash can. Bob will buy a post
and a bag of cement and he and Tony Zenthoefer will install it.
Donna also suggested that we look into affixing a sign to the play
equipment if there is room for it.
Executive Session:
Rob Brown sumitted his resignation from the board citing personal
reason. We thanked Rob for his service. We then held an election for
the position of board president. Steve Everman was elected to that
position. It was agreed that Donna Zenthoefer would take on the
position of treasurer. Ray McGrayel would continue serving as
vice-president. Bob would serve as secretary and webmaster.
The terms of Steve, Donna, and Ray all end at the end of this year.
There will be elections held after the annual meeting in October.
