Preliminary Business

Pool Discussion with a homeowner

A homeowner had submitted to the board a request to speak at the board meeting. The topic to be discussed was a set of several questions the homeowner had sent to the board regarding the conditions of the pool that he said he had observed on the 4th of July weekend. The board addressed these issues but no action was proposed and none was taken.

Architectural Review One submission was reviewed and approved.

Old Business

Playground appearance The sign listing the playground rules was again vandalized. We are looking into options to have the sign replaced and possibly protected with some sort of overlay.
Entrance sign landscaping US Lawns has just done some pruning and cleanup
Mowing contractor The question was raised with regard to the location of the border between the woods and the church property. US Lawns needs to know this for proper cutting. We will know the answer to this after Thompson Development has transfered the deed to the woods to us along with the platting report.
Poison ivy in the woods The poison ivy has been treated.
Website development Bob Hackenberg has installed a utility for the board to easily post update messages on the homepage and all board members have access to this.
Donna Zenthoefer would like to post on the website a vitual tour of Roudebush Woods as well as a calendar of when the pool will be closed for private parties. She will ask Bob to put this on the web.
Pool contractor and facility DJ Pools' performance has improved considerably. We are getting a quick response now to issues that come up.
Most of the umbrellas that were purchased at Home Depot broke very quickly. Home Depot is replacing them at no cost.
A key in the vendor lockbox at the pool went missing on June 25. Donna opened the pool for the lifeguard and put a new key in the lockbox. At the recommendation of DJ Pools, we rekeyed the front door lock and John Jensen changed the code on the vendor lockbox. This was done on July 10. On July 13 it was discovered that the water level had dropped overnight to below the skimmers and that the pumps wer running hot. During the night it appears that someone entered the pump room after hours and opened up the drain valve for the pool. It appears that someone had lifted the side gate off the hinges to gain entrance to the pool area and then entered the pump room with a key. This lock had not been changed on July 10 because it was thought it wasn't necessary. At this point the police were called. Several board members met with the police.
Debit card The debit card has been used for several purchases authorized by the board. There is currently $400 on the card.

New Business

Playground sign Donna is going to look at other sources for a replacement for the playground sign since Peachtree wants to sell us a new one.
New board email address There was expressed a need for a new board email address that David can use for responding to homeowners who write to him. The problem is that when he answers email, the homeowner responds to his personal address and the rest of the board does not see the chain of email. We will ask Bob to look into what can be done.
