Architectural Requests
There were no architectural requests this month.
Budget Review
Our budget and spending are right on track so far this year.
Old Business
Signs
The address sign for emergency notification for the pool has been
created and is awaiting installation.
All the materials for the announcement sign for the entrance to the
development have been purchased. We are waiting for better weather to
build the sign and install it.
Cattails in the retention pond
We still need to cut down the cattails in the retention pond near the
swimming pool. This has to be done before we can take advantage of a grant
from the city to plant vegetation around the pond. The purpose of this
vegetation is twofold: one is to absorb pesticide and fertilizer from
runoff from lawns before it enters the pond and ultimately the White River;
the other is to discourage Canada Geese from landing in the pond.
New Business
Election of Officers
The board voted to keep David York as President, Donna Zenthoffer as Treasurer,
and Bob Hackenberg as Secretary. They also voted to have Patrick Propst as
Vice-President. Frank Perry will serve as a member at large.
Annual Meeting Date Set
The board decided to have the annual meeting on Oct. 26 at 7pm.
Pool Contract
The board voted to award the pool contract for 2010 to Aquadoc, the company
that managed the pool last year.
Pool Issues
David York mentioned a number of issues with regard to the pool that we will
be looking into. These include the purchase of a new battery for the scanner,
automatic hand dryers for the restrooms, new umbrellas, the idea of creating
a splash park for the younger kids in place of the wading pool that is there
now, and the final repair of the leaking drains of the main pool.
Irrigation Timer
A timer for that automatic water sprinklers needs to be purchased and installed.
New Version of the Lot Map
There is a new version of the lot map on our website. This version has a Google
map of the development with an interactive marker on each house. When you
put the mouse pointer over the marker, you get the lot number and the house number.
Coordination with Roudebush Farms
Thompson has turned the governing of Roudebush Farms over to a board of residents.
Because we share the use and expenses of the pool, we will have to set up joint
meetings with their board to coordinate the management of the pool.
