Architectural Requests
An architectural request to install a deck was approved.
Old Business
Playground
We are researching for a good price for playground grade mulch
for the playground. The sign at the playground was vandalized
again. Volunteers worked on removing the graffiti and got
most of it off. Some of the remaining paint will be scraped
off. The basketball chain net needs to be replaced and the
pole needs to be repainted. Paint and the net will be
purchased by the treasurer.
Landscaping
US lawns has replaced mulch at both entrances. Robin pruned
back the burning bushes at the front entrance and her son,
Josh, cleaned up most of the fallen branches in the woods. We
are searching for a solution to get rid of the pile of
branches. Anyone who would like to take any of this material
is free to pick it up.
Trees at the Promise Road Entrance
A request by a homeowner has asked that we look into planting
evergreens along the side of the road to match what is
currently in place across the road at the entrance to
Foudebush Farms. We are looking for an economical way to get
these trees as well as shade trees for the playground.
Yard Lights
The number of yard lights that have been out for three
consecutive months has dropped somewhat now that warmer
weather is here. Since it is a city regulation that each of
our houses have a yard light lit from dusk to dawn, we are
attempting to have the city issue tickets to offenders. We
will only be reporting those houses that have not solved the
problem within three months.
New Business
Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 11
An Easter Egg Hunt will be staged this year in collaboration
with Faith Community Church. Patrick Propst, who is a
resident of Roudebush Woods and also a member of the church,
is coordinating the event. The church is preparing a flyer
announcing the event.
CAI Workshop
CAI will be offering a workshop for home owner and condo
associations. Robin Fleming expressed an interest in
attending. CASI (our management company) is a member of CAI.
Sprinklers at the 191st St. Entrance
The water at the 191st St. Entrance will be turned on during
the latter part of April. The water is turned off during the
winter to prevent damage to the pipes.
Roudebush Woods receives two cost-share grants from Hamilton County
The HOA board is pleased to announce that Roudebush Woods has been
selected to receive two cost-share funding grants from the Hamilton
County Soil & Water Conservation District. The first grant of
$1,423.50 will enable us to plant trees and shrubs around our pond
across from the pool. We will also be planting native plants around
the edge of the pond to help prevent erosion, algea and cattails. The
second grant of $325.00 will be used to plant a rain garden beside the
swings in an area that is slow to dry out after it rains. If you are
interested in volunteering to help with these spring projects, please
let us know.
As part of the work involved in participating in the grant,
volunteers will begin removing the cattails at the pond near
the swimming pool.
No Soliciting sign
The "No Soliciting" sign needs to be replaced at the Promise
Road entrance. This was approved last month and is on order.
Pool
We are receiving bids from several pool management
companies. We hope to have a contract with one of them in
place in the near future.
We are considering making Friday evenings availble for private
pool parties. Previously the pool was made availble on Mondays
but it was felt that groups might be more interested in having
a party on Friday evenings.
Budget
We seem to be on track for the current budget. Hank Thompson
indicated that it seems like the number of outstanding
accounts for owed dues is decreasing somewhat.
